Special feature of beaches on the Sea of Japan with spectacular views

Hello everyone!
Another hot summer is just around the corner.
This time, we would like to introduce four beaches in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, which are recommended by our editorial staff, who are already feeling the summer heat.

~Tanaima Beach is also famous for the quality of its water.

The transparency of the Tanima Beach is astonishing!
The sunlight reflecting off the water is beautiful.

The first place is Tanaima Beach.
Tanaima Beach is famous on the Sea of Japan side for its long coastline and good water quality.
On clear days, visitors can see as far as Sadogashima Island and Mt. Yoneyama, known for its sankaibushi, and enjoy a magnificent view of the sunset over the Sea of Japan.
Many bathers from Nagano Prefecture and as far away as the Kanto region visit the beach every year to enjoy the scent of the sea.

~Naoetsu Beach, where you can enjoy yourself even after a day at the beach.

Long and wide sandy beach
Next, we would like to introduce Naoetsu Beach, located about 10 minutes by car from Naoetsu Station on the JR Shinetsu Main Line.
The shallow water and wide sandy beach make it a safe place for children to enjoy themselves!
A large parking lot that can accommodate approximately 500 vehicles is also available.

It is not only the beaches that you can enjoy!

The Umitari Aquarium is a 5-minute walk from here, where you can experience the magnificence of the Sea of Japan, one of the most popular museums in the prefecture!
After a half-day of sea bathing, you can also enjoy the aquarium, so why not stop by for a walk?

Why not stop by for a stroll and enjoy the leisure of the sea, fresh seafood, and hot springs all at the same time? Unohama Beach is a place where you can enjoy ocean recreation, fresh seafood, and hot springs all at the same time.
Unohama Beach boasts a wide sandy beach and clean water with an AA water quality rating, and is popular as a resort beach with hot springs, attracting many bathers from inside and outside of the prefecture.
On a clear day, the mermaid statues seen against the backdrop of the setting sun on the Sea of Japan are truly spectacular!
This area was also recognized as a "holy place for lovers" in 2015.
Sadogashima Island can be seen on a clear day.

Unohama Onsen is located right between Unohama Beach!
Unohama Onsen is a hot spring resort spread out along the Unohama coast surrounded by pine forests, and on a clear day, you can see the sunset over the Sea of Japan and Sadogashima Island.

~Kakizaki Chuo Beach (Kakizaki Central Beach) for a romantic view of the sunset over the Sea of Japan

Kakizaki Chuo Beach is a beach that extends a whopping 1,000 meters (200 meters in the bathing management area).
The slightly larger grains of sand are less likely to remain on your body, making it a relaxing place to spend time, and is recommended for women and children.
The sunset viewed from the beach is reputed to be very beautiful, and the beach boasts excellent clear seawater and clean sand.
Public restrooms, shower rooms, changing rooms, and other facilities are also available.
