Hiraniwa Plateau is located at an altitude of more than 800 meters above sea level, with a 4-meter-long white birch forest along the road, and is known as the most beautiful white birch forest in Japan.
In early summer, azalea azaleas bloom in clusters, turning the entire plateau red. In addition to the only bullfighting tournament held in Tohoku several times a year, the plateau is crowded with people enjoying skiing during the winter season.
