Hakodate Park has many attractions♪ Ride on Japan's oldest Ferris wheel (Hakodate Park, Kodomo-no-Kuni)

- Sightseeing
Hakodate Park was created with the participation of citizens.
The British consul stationed in Hakodate at that time called for the establishment of the park, which was supported by many citizens, and was completed with funds and trees donated by influential people and labor contributed by citizens, making it one of the few urban parks in Japan.
The park is home to the Hakodate Museum No. 1 and No. 2, which are tangible cultural properties of Hokkaido, the Hakodate Municipal Museum, the Shirakawa Bridge, Hokkaido's first stone bridge, and a bamboo grove, among many other attractions.

Bamboo, which prefers warm climates, does not grow well in colder regions, so it is rare to see a bamboo grove in Hokkaido. The moso bamboo, which initially consisted of seven plants each, has now grown into a magnificent bamboo grove.
Retro atmosphere of Kodomo no Kuni
Hakodate Park has a "Children's Land" with playground equipment. The rides are nostalgic and cute. Among them, the "Aerial Ferris Wheel" is especially recommended. This Ferris wheel, designated as a national tangible cultural property, is the oldest Ferris wheel still in operation in Japan.
It is a small Ferris wheel with a height of 10 meters and eight seats, but you will be surprised when you get on it!
It is surprisingly tall.

At the boarding area, an attendant tells you that you will be able to see the Tsugaru Straits as you go up. I was excited.
As I was riding, I could see the blue sea on my right.
It is a small aerial walk of less than 4 minutes per lap. Children and adults can also enjoy the ride.

There are other animal facilities in Hakodate Park.
Small animals such as rabbits and Ezo squirrels, birds such as ducks and chubos, as well as iguanas and turtles live peacefully in the park.
Hakodate Park has a lot to offer. Why not spend a relaxing day experiencing history and riding nostalgic rides?
Children's Land Admission is free, rides are 300 yen per ride.
