Wasshoi! Japan's Biggest Straw Straw Straw Festival
- Fukushima
- Sightseeing

Dancers carry Japan's largest waraji (straw sandals), 12 meters long, while live music played by taiko drums and flutes, and the crowd goes "Wasshoi, Wasshoi! Wasshoi! The Fukushima Waraji Festival has been held every year with a lively atmosphere.
Japan's largest waraji" with a length of 12 meters

The festival maintains the tradition of dedicating the "largest waraji in Japan," and in the summer, a pair of waraji (one for each foot) is dedicated, which together with the large waraji dedicated at the "Dawn Mairi," makes a pair (for both feet) and is meant to pray for even more sound legs.
The Waraji Ondo has been renewed!

In 2019, the 50th anniversary of the festival, the Waraji Ondo was renewed with live flute and drum performances and live singing by musician Yoshihide Otomo, who is associated with Fukushima City.
The dance was also renewed to match the dynamic music. The dancers hold a ring called "Waranowa" in both hands, and dance powerfully and colorfully with characteristic lower-body movements that suggest strong legs.
