A rare ship in the world! The Seikan Liaison Ship Memorial Ship Hakkouda Maru

  • Experience Gifu
The museum is housed in the hull of the Hakkoudamaru, which was the longest active ship among the Seikan Liaison Ships between Aomori and Hakodate, and its main attraction is the "train deck. The most interesting part of the museum is the car deck, where a train crosses the sea on a ship, which is a very rare sight in the world.
Inside the ship, from the first basement floor to the fourth floor above ground, the captain's quarters and sleeping quarters have been preserved to the utmost extent possible to reflect the conditions of the time. There is an observation deck on the first floor, where the car deck is located, and on the third and fourth floors, where panels and videos are exhibited, where visitors can enjoy a 360°C panoramic view.
Visitors can learn about the history of the Seikan Liaison Boat while having fun. Please visit the museum.
