What are Gunma's three best plum groves?

Gunma Prefecture is famous for its ume plum trees. Gunma Prefecture boasts the second largest production of ume in Japan. Among them, there is a vast ume grove called "Gunma's three largest ume groves. They are Akima Plum Grove in Annaka City, Haruna Plum Grove in Takasaki City, and Minogo Plum Grove in Minogo City. The Akima Plum Grove introduced here has a history of about 60 years as a tourist plum grove. About 35,000 red and white plum trees are in full bloom on a vast hill of about 50 hectares spreading out in the mountains along the upper reaches of the Akima River, providing a magnificent view.
The Akima Plum Grove Festival is held from mid-February to the end of March, attracting many people during the festival. There are a series of teahouses and souvenir shops operated by smiling farmer's mothers who symbolize Gunma's culture of "Kakaatenshita," where you can taste local food and snacks. There is also a walking course where you can take a leisurely stroll while viewing the plum blossoms!
