Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture: "Megane Street," a Road Where You Can Feel the Glasses

Sabae City in Fukui Prefecture boasts a 90% share of the domestic market for eyeglass frames, and the craftsmanship and high quality that have been passed down through the centuries have attracted attention from around the world, earning Sabae City the nickname "the city of glasses!

Sabae has developed "Megane Street" as part of its "Megane~Land" concept, which aims to create a theme park of eyeglasses so that visitors can experience eyeglasses.
The "Megane Street" is located on the 900-meter road from JR Sabae Station to the Megane Museum, and features devices to make visitors feel glasses everywhere along the sidewalk!
Starting from Sabae Station and walking through the underpass, many glasses appear on the stairs! At the bottom of the stairs, colorful glasses painted with projection lights will welcome you!

Benches in the shape of glasses are placed on the sidewalk leading up to the Megane Museum! It is a 10-minute walk from Sabae Station to the Megane Museum, so take advantage of these benches for a quick break!
