Posters and pamphlets of the Gono-Line often remind you of the combination of the vast clear blue Sea of Japan and the horizon with a long blue sky. In this season, we have many opportunities to see the clear blue sky in the cold days of Tokyo, but what kind of scenery can you see along the Gono-Line? What kind of scenery can be seen along the Gono-Line?

The window frames are filled with snowy scenery!

The scenery spreading out from the windows of the train on the Gono Line is unmistakably that of the northern Tohoku region in winter. Spending a relaxing time on the warm train watching the rough skies of the Sea of Japan and the snowy landscape is a luxury that is not often experienced, is it?

Enjoy the snowy scenery!

While the train travels along the Tsugaru Road in the harsh winter, events such as a Tsugaru shamisen performance will be held on board the Resort Shirakami. The scenery shows Tsugaru as it really is, and inside the train is a performance of traditional arts, which makes the train ride itself an event to enjoy sightseeing in Tsugaru! Unlike spring and summer, this is the only time when you can see the snowy scenery which is not often introduced! You can see the "everyday life of Tsugaru as it is", which is not shown on posters and other media. Please come and visit us! Please check the JR East website for the section and trains where Tsugaru Shamisen will be performed.
