Walking around downtown Kanazawa, you may be at a loss as to what to eat at the various restaurants, including Japanese, Western, oden, ramen, and so on. This time, we would like to introduce a hidden-away Obanzai restaurant that we really don't want to tell you about. Tamari" is located on one of the back streets of downtown Katamachi in Kanazawa. The proprietress greets you with an exquisite smile. You can eat a little bit of your favorite obanzai, which is perfect for those who want to eat various kinds of food. Enjoy the nostalgic and relaxing taste.
In winter, "Tamari Oden" appears instead of Kanazawa Oden! Our recommendation is tomatoes. The dashi broth soaks into the tomatoes in just the right state without breaking down, and goes well with the coarsely ground pepper as an accent. Of course, daikon radish, egg, tsumire, etc. are also simmered in the gentle broth, making them relaxing on a cold day.
Although it is an obanzai (side dish) restaurant, it also serves a wide variety of sashimi. The owner is very particular about his sashimi. The arrangement and workmanship are so pleasing to the eye that you can't help but want to take pictures. Today's dish was "bai gai" (bai shellfish). Served with liver and salt, either way you eat it, you can't help but exclaim, "Mmmm, that's good! I couldn't help but say, "Mmmm, delicious!
And then, I had to try the "Kabako Crab". The crab meat was beautifully presented, so I just popped it into my mouth. The flavor of the leg meat and the rich taste of the roe and miso are irresistible. It is a pity that the fishing season will soon be over and we will have to wait until next year.
There are also many kinds of sake. What do you recommend? the proprietress will give you a choice. It is a small restaurant with only about 10 seats at the counter, so be sure to make a reservation.
