In order to revitalize Takaoka, which has recently seen an increase in the number of vacant stores, we would like to create a Daibutsu café next to the Takaoka Daibutsu! The idea was to create a café next to Takaoka Daibutsu (Great Buddha) in order to revitalize the town of Takaoka, which has seen an increase in the number of vacant shops recently. The "Great Buddha of Takaoka" is a symbol of the city, created with the best of Takaoka's casting technology. amida coffee offers a menu featuring the motif of the Great Buddha.
Daibutsu Latte" with a slightly mischievous face
First, here is the popular "Daibutsu Latte. The original latte art is very cute. Depending on the day, you can see a slightly chubby Daibutsu or a Daibutsu that looks like an old man.
If you see the "Daibutsu sponge cake," it's a good thing you ate it!
The "Daibutsu Castella" is depicted on this signboard. It is baked in a Takaoka copperware baking mold to make it fluffy and moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. Until now, Daibutsusaburo, a non-profit organization, has taken the lead in selling Daibutsu Castella at events such as the Takaoka Nabe Festival, but amida coffee has taken over the idea of bringing Daibutsu Castella to more people and has realized sales at its permanent store!
However, when I went to the store at snack time that day, the last piece was sold out right in front of me...too bad.... Next time, I would like to visit earlier to get one.
There are many other menu items with the image of the Great Buddha, such as soft-serve ice cream decorated with a round cookie that looks like a spiral hair. It is a perfect place to stop by after visiting the Daibutsu or while sightseeing in Takaoka, so why not have a little rest at the Daibutsu Cafe while admiring the handsome Daibutsu? If you go there by car, please note that there is no dedicated parking lot for the store. We recommend that you use the nearest "Takaoka City-operated Otachiya Parking Lot," which is about a 4-minute walk away.
