An island with a mysterious legend

Have you ever heard of Tobishima, the only inhabited island in Yamagata Prefecture? Located in the northern part of the Sea of Japan, Tobishima is an island rich in nature, with an average temperature of over 12°C. The entire island is designated as a national park. There are various ways to spend your time on Tobishima, such as strolling around the island while enjoying wild flowers, rock fishing at one of the best fishing spots in Japan, and bird watching where you can see "rare birds" that are unique to this migratory bird stopover area! For those who want to relax and forget about time, we recommend the natural beach at Tobishima Beach. The clear blue ocean stretches out before your eyes.
Tobishima is also dotted with spots where mysterious legends remain. The "Sai-no-gawara," where the souls of the dead are believed to gather, and the "Teki-ana," a cave where human bones and earthenware from the Heian period (794-1185) were excavated, are just a few examples. Why not visit this mysterious island with its rich nature and legends?
