Nezu Shrine, one of the Ten Shrines of Tokyo, is a historic shrine with a history of approximately 1,900 years. Seven structures built in the Edo period (1603-1867), including the hall of worship, Karamon gate, and a transparent wall, are still in existence and are designated as national important cultural properties. It is also a place where visitors can enjoy nature, such as azaleas in spring and autumn leaves in fall.

There are many things to see and do at Nezu Shrine!

The "tower gate" stands majestically, welcoming worshippers first.

There are two shrines on the grounds of Nezu Shrine, Otome Inari Shrine and Komagome Inari Shrine, and the Otome Inari Shrine's greatest attraction is the "Senbon-torii" (one thousand torii). Many people are attracted by the beautiful vermilion torii gates that stand in neat rows. In contrast, Komagome Inari Shrine is built of stone and has a solemn atmosphere.

Another highlight of Nezu Shrine is the large kaya tree in front of the shrine. It is popular as a power spot and a place to tie ema (votive picture tablet) and omikuji (omikuji fortune). It is also famous for its azaleas. Around the end of April, 3,000 colorful azaleas of about 100 varieties bloom, and the "Bunkyo Azalea Festival" is held in conjunction with the festival.
Why not take a moment to contemplate the history of the shrine and its natural surroundings?
