Sasa-kamaboko" is probably one of the first foods that come to mind when you think of Sendai's specialties.

This time, among the many sasa-kamaboko stores, we would like to introduce you to the main store of Abe Kamaboko-Ten, which is said to be the godfather of sasa-kamaboko.
The founder of Abe Kamaboko named it "Sendai's specialty, sasa-kamaboko. It is said that the name "Sasa-kamaboko" was named after the family crest of the Date family of Sendai, which consists of a pair of facing sparrows surrounded by bamboo grass, and the name "Sasa-kamaboko" gradually took root.

It is only a 10-minute walk from Sendai Station.
This store not only sells souvenirs, but also allows visitors to try their hand at baking sasa-kamaboko!
