The bridge, which is purple like the town's specialty paulownia flower, was repainted after the town requested that it be the same color as the flower.
The bridge is used for the JR Tadami Line, which runs 135 km from Aizu Wakamatsu in Fukushima Prefecture to Koide in Niigata Prefecture, and is surrounded by a thick virgin beech forest. It is a popular spot not only among photographers but also among photographing enthusiasts as a "railroad line with beautiful autumn leaves" and a "local railway line with beautiful snowy scenery. When there is no wind, the bridge is reflected beautifully on the surface of the water, and depending on the season, the scenery changes not only from autumn leaves and snow to foggy and fantastic, so you can enjoy the scenery in all seasons.

The observatory located about a 10-minute walk from Oze-kaido Mishima-juku, a roadside station, is the best place to take pictures. Incidentally, there are only six trains each running up and down, but there is a signboard at the observatory that shows the time when the trains pass the bridge.
