〜It's November! The best time to see the big ginkgo tree is finally here!
It is an old tree from the Kamakura period (1185-1333), and with a height of 31 meters and a trunk circumference of 22 meters!
A 10-minute slow walk from Kitakanegazawa Station on the JR Gono Line, while enjoying the soothing scenery, will make you feel the depth of autumn with its golden leaves.
Fukaura Town has other famous sightseeing spots such as Senjidashiki and Lake Juniko, but this is a power spot that you should definitely extend your visit in November!
Why don't you come out to appreciate the power of the huge trees that remind you of the history and the breathtaking beauty of the yellow leaves?
Also known as Tarachine gingko? (Tarachine gingko)
Incidentally, the tree is also called "Tarachine no gingan-no kobunshu (Tarachine gingan tree)" because its aerial root hangs down from the trunk in a shape similar to a breast. The tree has long been revered as a sacred tree, so much so that there is a legend that touching the roots will improve the flow of mother's milk.
The best time to see the leaves is usually in late November, but for the latest information, please check the Fukaura Town Board of Education or the official website of the Aomori Prefecture Tourism Federation.
