Is the scarecrow a god?
What kind of image do you have when you hear the word "scarecrow"?
Many people probably have an image of scarecrows placed in rice paddies to keep birds away.
In fact, the scarecrow is "Kuebiko no Kami," a knowledgeable deity who presides over rice paddies and mountains, as mentioned in the Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters).
The only shrine in Japan that enshrines such a "Kuebiko-kami" as the main deity at its head office is "Kuebiko-jinja Shrine!
Here, we would like to introduce some of the experiences you can have at "Kyudaihiko Shrine".
Why don't you join the scarecrow making experience?
Here, we would like to introduce some of the experiences available at Kyudaihiko Shrine.
Scarecrows are often seen in the rice paddies, but I suspect that not many people have made them before. And not many people know how to make them, either.
At Kyuhirobiko Shrine, you can make your own original scarecrow using clothes and accessories of your choice!
The process takes about three hours and is an experience that both parents and children can participate in.
After the dedication ceremony, one scarecrow will be placed at the shrine and one can be taken home.
If you want to do something that other people have never experienced, this is the perfect place for you! It is also perfect for those who want to do something that no one else seems to have done!
Why don't you join us?
