Exhibition Room
Kitaro Nishida, who wrote Japan's first philosophy book, "The Study of Goodness," was born in Kahoku City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Here is the only museum of philosophy in Japan, the Ishikawa Nishida Kitaro Memorial Philosophical Museum. Philosophy is an image that is difficult even for adults to understand, but here, visitors can take their time to experience it, starting with exhibits that give hints about philosophy and ending with rooms that introduce Kitaro Nishida's achievements, his interactions with various people, his favorite items and books, and more. You will feel like folding your arms...unintentionally.
Library
There is also a library with a collection of philosophy books. It is a quiet, slightly "piquant" space where students can study at their leisure.
View from the observation lounge
The observation lounge on the top floor offers a great location from which to look down on the city of Kahoku. For those who have had their heads filled with the many exhibits, this is the place to clear your head and your mind.

The building was designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando. The modern building, which harmonizes nature, concrete, and glass, was created under the theme of "thinking," and there are spaces throughout to indulge in contemplation.
Kosei-gut," the study of Kitaro Nishida
Outside the building is Kosei-kutsu, Kitaro Nishida's study, which is a registered tangible cultural property of Japan. The furniture and books inside are said to be exactly as they were in those days. Visitors do not usually have the opportunity to get involved in philosophy, but how about experiencing a different kind of contemplative time during your trip?
