Kota Shrine is also known as Echigo Ichinomiya Shrine, along with Yahiko Shrine and Amatsu Shrine. It is said that Shinran Shonin was the first person to visit this shrine after landing on the beach of Ota-ga-hama in exile. Okuninushi no Mikoto, Nunagawa Hime, and Takeminakata no Mikoto are enshrined at the shrine, and are said to bring good luck for the fulfillment of good relationships. The Ganden Shrine, located within the Iota Shrine, is also said to bring good luck for children, and is visited by many people as a power spot for marriage and child-bearing.
