MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives is an "experimental museum of culture" that creates new expressions and impressions with the mission of "connecting culture for the next 100 years. The acronym "MoN" has two meanings: "question" and "gate. Through programs that transcend conventional cultural genres and categories, visitors can receive "questions" to pose to society and "questions" to pose to themselves. In addition, the "Gate" has an affinity with the name of the Takanawa Gateway, and is also meant to serve as an entrance connecting diverse fields and a doorway for visitors to encounter new worlds. The exterior of the building, which has six stories above ground and three below, was designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates. The spiral exterior design, which seems to climb from the earth to the sky, is one of the key points of interest!

New Hanami Spot MoN Farm / Hanami Terrace

The rooftop garden, rich in nature, is a great place to experience the seasons! In addition to seasonal flowers, plants, and fruit trees, the "MoN Farm" has a vegetable garden where vegetables and herbs are grown, as well as the rooftop Hanami Terrace, a rooftop hanami spot where seven different types of cherry trees bloom at different times in spring, each taking a turn to decorate the terrace. Healing Spots: Tsukimi Terrace / Ashiyu Terrace

The "moon-viewing terrace" and "footbath terrace" are located on the top six floors, where you can spend a soothing moment soaking your feet in the warm water while enjoying the spring breeze!

Tsukimi Terrace

The Tsukimi Terrace features a waterside design reminiscent of an infinity pool. A stone foothold, reminiscent of a ship, is placed right next to the water's surface, making it an eye-catching spot for photos. The surface of the water constantly bobbing, softly reflecting the surrounding scenery. The atmosphere changes depending on the time of day and the amount of light, making it a place you will never get tired of seeing again and again.

Footbath terrace

Along the planted area, there is a series of long benches. The footbath terrace is a part of this area with a footbath built in. This is a place where you can relax and feel comfortable, even in the city. Here, it is important to be careful to distinguish between the water area and the footbath area. There are two separate areas: one that can be used as a footbath and one that has been set up as a water feature, so please check the footbath symbol carefully before enjoying it.â

3rd floor Cafe Mon Kitchen by Spiral

Mon Kitchen by SPIRAL is a restaurant with a view of both Shinkansen and conventional trains. It is especially recommended for those who wish to dine while viewing the trains. The restaurant has a Scandinavian theme with wooden furniture and dishes, and the atrium gives the space a sense of openness. There is also counter seating outside, making it a pleasant place to spend a sunny day. Our editorial staff had the "Large Meatballs and Mixed Beans in Demi-glace Stew". The meatballs were in generous portions and went perfectly with the demi-glace sauce. The rich demi-glace sauce matched the mashed potatoes and made the dish more satisfying than it looked.

In front of Mon Kitchen by SPIRAL, there is a large stair-like area that can be used as a bench, and depending on your location, you can even get a close-up view of the trains running outside! The "LAUBE" is a small, but very comfortable space.
