- Sightseeing
This park was established in 1885 under the name of Hikawa Park and was loved by great writers such as Soseki Natsume and Shiki Masaoka. The park has moderate undulations, a pond, a red pine forest with towering red pine trees over 100 years old, and many trees with beautiful fresh green and autumn leaves, including hundreds of cherry trees, which are famous. The park has been selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots and one of the 100 best urban parks in Japan, and is the oldest prefectural park in Saitama Prefecture and well known by many visitors.
You can enjoy both day and night! One of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Saitama
During the cherry blossom viewing period, there are food stalls, so you can lay out leisure sheets and enjoy a meal while viewing the cherry blossoms♪ You can also enjoy the cherry blossoms at night when they are lit up.
There are many attractions in Omiya Park!
Parents and children can also enjoy! Free zoo and retro amusement park
The small zoo opened in 1953. Although the zoo is free of charge, it is home to a wide variety of animals, including squirrels, monkeys, foxes, capybaras, and black bears. There is also a large flying gauge where visitors can see flamingos and many other bird species up close.
The children's amusement park next door is lined with retro rides that remind one of the Showa period (1926-1989). The symbolic flying tower was installed in 1950 when the Sports Land was opened. Other rides, such as a battery car that costs 100 to 200 yen and a bean train that seats two, are just like those seen on the rooftops of department stores in the olden days, and both children and adults are captivated by them!
In the plaza in front of the park, there are slides, swings, a jungle gym, and a sandbox, so you can enjoy the whole day to the fullest.
