What kind of festival is Anjin Matsuri?
The first Anjin Festival was held in 1947. This year will be the 79th time the festival has been held! The main event, which has a history of more than 70 years, is the "Anjin Matsuri Marine Fireworks Display," which is shot simultaneously from five different locations on the sea, and is accompanied by Japanese drums and lanterns.

Thursday, July 24 - Thursday, August 7, 9:00-17:00 Ito Tourist Association Information Center (inside JR Ito Station)
On the day of August 8 (Friday), lanterns are available for 1,000 yen each at two locations: Tsugakubashi and Ideyu Bridge.
20:50-21:00 "Stream of Lanterns" fireworks display
Venue: Ito Coast (Matsubara bank)
Watch colorful lanterns flow down the Ito Matsukawa River. You can also purchase lanterns and paint your own pictures and letters on them and float them down the river! Please enjoy the collaboration of the fantastic lights of the lanterns flickering on the Matsukawa River and the fireworks!
Anjin Festival Day 2] August 9 (Sat)
Venue: Nagisa Park (Venue in case of rain: Ito Sightseeing Hall)
■20:50-21:00 "Taiko no Hibiki" Fireworks Launch
Venue: Ito Coast (Matsubara bank)
A taiko drum competition will be held with taiko teams from within and outside the city. At the end of the taiko drumming competition, fireworks such as starmine, No.3 ball rapid-fire and No.5 ball rapid-fire will be launched to a climax of great power!
Anjin Festival 3rd day】August 10th (Sun)
■20:00~21:00 Anohin Festival Marine Fireworks Display
Venue: Ito Coast
This is the main event to decorate the finale of the Anohin Festival. 10,000 fireworks will be shot simultaneously from 5 places on the sea in 1 hour, which is the largest fireworks display in Izu. Starmine and rapid-fire fireworks are prepared at key points, and fireworks with a maximum size of 15 shakudama and aerial Niagara are a must-see! Fireworks full of individuality are shot up into the summer night sky.
We recommend viewing the fireworks from Orange Beach or Kawaguchi Park! Both can be reached on foot from JR Ito Station. Night stalls line the Matsukawa River, so why not enjoy the festive atmosphere while watching the fireworks♪
