Mammy Suiton, a popular dish in Naraha.

Mamy Suton, a local delicacy of Naraha Machi, is a nostalgic dish of sticky sudon and root vegetables in a soy sauce-based chicken broth. The name "mummy sudon" came from Troussier, then coach of the Japanese national soccer team, who visited J-Village in 1999 and was impressed by the taste, saying, "It tastes just like my grandma's back home. Since then, it has become a well-known specialty of the town. The dish is available at local events and restaurants, and is also sold as a set that includes sudon powder and mamey sudon soup, making it easy to enjoy at home. Mamy Su-ton" is simple and heartwarming. It is a must-try dish that is filled with the climate and warmth of Naraha Machi.

Dried sweet potato, a specialty of Naraha

Dried sweet potatoes from Naraha Machi are soft and moist with a natural sweetness. The dried sweet potatoes are mainly high-sugar varieties such as "Beniharuka" and are not processed immediately after harvesting, but instead are slowly matured in one of the largest and most advanced sweet potato storage facilities in Naraha Machi. This "Naraha Machi Sweet Potato Storage Facility" curing process is applied to the harvested sweet potatoes to prevent spoilage, and the temperature and humidity are kept at optimum levels to maximize the sugar content of the sweet potatoes. It is an excellent product for snacking, children's snacks, and as a gift. We hope you will enjoy this unique dried sweet potato from Naraha Machi, which is filled with the blessings of nature, time and effort, and love.

Naraha-famous yuzu

In the 1985's, Naraha Machi, which was considered the northern limit of yuzu cultivation, began using yuzu to revitalize the town, such as by distributing yuzu seedlings to all households in the town under the slogan "Yuzu-scented Cultural Village. The town now produces a wide variety of processed products such as sake, ponzu (Japanese citrus vinegar), and dressing, which are also offered as tax return gifts to Naraha Machi residents. Naraha Machi's mascot character "Yuzutaro" was created based on the motif of the local yuzu. It is loved by everyone from children to the elderly, and is now the symbol of the town.
