Do you sometimes have a craving for delicious bread when you travel?

The bread served at breakfast in hotels and inns is good, but one of the pleasures of traveling is to stop by a nice bakery in a distant place that you cannot usually visit. Some people may decide where to go on a trip because they "want to eat bread here! is one of the reasons for deciding where to go on a trip. In this article, we would like to introduce some bakeries that we would like to visit for the purpose of our trip.
Tran Bleu" is the first name that comes to mind when talking about popular bread stores in Hida Takayama.
The name "Tran Bleu" means "blue train" in French. It was named in the hope that the train will continue to run steadily and relentlessly toward its destination along a long road. The owner of the store participated in the world's most prestigious international baking competition as a member of the Japanese team and won third place. The store attracted a lot of attention because it was the first time a privately owned store was chosen to represent Japan in the competition. The store was also introduced on a TV program and became well known throughout Japan! Even now, many customers visit from within and outside of the prefecture.

Since the store is expected to be quite crowded on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, GW, summer vacation, and other consecutive holidays, numbered tickets are handed out from 6:00 a.m. before the store opens. Recently, we have been limiting entry to the restaurant to avoid congestion in the restaurant, and we guide customers one group at a time, so you may have to wait even longer. We recommend that you come to the store with plenty of time to spare.
In front of the store, there is an introduction of the current season's Danish... all of them look delicious!
All products are covered with plastic curtains to prevent corona!
We arrived just in time for the croissants to be baked! They were right on time!
The popular croissants are baked two or three times a day, starting at noon, so personally, I aim to visit around noon on weekdays. Freshly baked bread is the best! There is no eat-in space inside the store, so you can enjoy your bread straight from outside the store. The outside is crispy and crunchy, the inside has a fine layer, and the aroma and flavor of butter spreads in your mouth at once! In addition to croissants, seasonal Danish and hard breads are also popular, and all of them are delicious.
The store is a bit far from the old town of Takayama, but if you are interested, you should definitely take the time to visit.
