Takato Joshi Park, Ina City, Nagano: About 1,500 Takato's native species, Takato kohiganzakura (cherry trees), are in full bloom.
The "Takato Joshi Park Cherry Blossom Festival" is held every year from early to mid-April, when the cherry trees are in full bloom, and includes stalls and entertainment events. The Meike area, where the Niigata Prefectural Library and the Nature Science Museum are located, and the Kanegi area, where the Niigata City Industrial Promotion Center is located, are ideal for cherry blossom viewing, as many Someiyoshino cherry trees are planted there. Approximately 2,000 cherry trees will be in full bloom around the Toryano Lagoon, and bonbori (paper lanterns) will be lit on the cherry trees around Benten Bridge.
