At the Iwaki City Flower Center in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers throughout the year. In particular, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, and nemophila in spring. In autumn, you can enjoy kochia leaves, autumn roses, and bougainvillea. Pets are also allowed in the park, so the whole family can enjoy the park.

"Iwaki City Flower Center" is one of the largest in Fukushima Prefecture.

The Iwaki City Flower Center is one of the largest botanical gardens in Fukushima Prefecture, with approximately 600 species and 50,000 plants in an area of 26 hectares, and is located halfway up Mount Ishimori, about 20 minutes by car from JR Iwaki Station, from where you can also look over the ocean.

In addition to enjoying flowers in the English Garden and Rose Garden, visitors can enjoy the vast grounds to their heart's content, including a tropical plant zone where visitors can see plants from warm regions such as bananas, papayas, and cacti in the greenhouse, playground equipment for children, and a hiking course perfect for walking dogs. March-April: "Cherry Blossoms" that can be enjoyed for a long period of time with a wide variety of varieties

The Iwaki City Flower Center has various kinds of cherry trees, and visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms for a long period of time. In April, nemophila also begins to bloom, so if your timing is good, you may be able to enjoy both.

Nemophila, characterized by their bright blue color, begin blooming in early April. When the weather is fine, the nemophila blooms like a blue carpet under a blue sky, and you can enjoy the view of the entire area being dyed in blue.

Many lavenders are planted in an area that recreates an English garden full of British atmosphere using bricks. The best time to visit is from late June to early July, when the scent of lavender will relax you.

Kochia, also known as broom grass, begins to turn red in early October. In summer, kochia is beautiful in green, but in October, it begins to turn red, and during this season, you can enjoy both green and red kochia together. Usually, mid-October is the best time to see the autumn leaves.

In the greenhouse, which is one of the largest in Iwaki City, there are a variety of plants that grow mainly in warm regions, such as bougainvillea, cactus, and hibiscus. There are not only flowers but also fruits such as bananas and dragon fruits in the exhibition greenhouse! Even after the outside flower season is over, you can enjoy the plants in the greenhouse throughout the year.

In addition to viewing flowers, the Iwaki City Flower Park offers a variety of events that can be enjoyed. In the past, "Making an Air Plant Stand with Wire" for houseplant lovers, "Fragrance Bottle Flower Arrangement" using flowers, and "Making a Small Flower Wreath" were held.
