Colorful carp streamers will be flying in the sky over the valley again this year!

The very popular event "Keiryu Koinobori (stream carp streamers)," a springtime tradition in Jozankei, will be held again in 2025 from April to May.
Flying in the sky will be carp streamers filled with precious memories donated by families in Hokkaido.
The carp streamers can be seen in the center of the hot spring resort, Jozan Fountainhead Park, Futami Park, Taro no Yu, Migari-zaka, Yukemuri-zaka, Jozankei Shrine, and Kappa Kazoku no Gakkake Teyu.

The competition between cherry blossoms and carp streamers is truly a photo-worthy sight!

The setting is Jozankei Onsen, one of Hokkaido's representative hot spring resorts.

The "Keiryu Carp Stream Carp Streamers" will be held at Jozankei Onsen Hot Spring, which is about an hour's direct bus ride from the center of Sapporo.
Jozankei Onsen is a historic hot spring resort that was pioneered more than 150 years ago by "Jozan Miizumi," a monk from Bizen Province (present-day Okayama Prefecture). In addition to hot spring baths and dining facilities, the area is also home to many natural beauty spots, and is a popular tourist destination visited by approximately 2.4 million people each year.

Cherry blossoms are not the only way to experience spring in Jozankei. The "spring foliage" can be seen only during the short period of time when the trees have just begun to sprout.
