Omuroyama's power spots

Omuro is also known as a power spot, as the mountain itself was thought to be a deity long ago. Sengen Shrine is enshrined in the middle of the crater (east side), and its deity is Bancho Hime-no-mikoto, the consort of Gozin Oyamamatsuminokami (Gozin Oyamatsuminoko Iwanagahimenomikoto). The deity is also the sister of Konohanosakuyabime, the deity of the summit of Mt.
It is said that about 300 years ago, a daughter of Seibei Asakura, a landowner in Iwamura, Soshu (Ashigarashita County, Kanagawa Prefecture), gave birth to a baby at the age of nine and prayed to Omuroyama Sengen Shrine for safe delivery.

The "Yatsugatake Jizo" at the top of the mountain is said to have been dedicated by fishermen from the neighboring coastal areas to pray for maritime safety and prevention of maritime accidents at Omuroyama, which faced Oshima Island, in the old days.
Takaha Shugyo Kuhi" is inscribed with the phrase, "Izu is a place where the sun shines and the citrus fruits blossom" by Takaha Shugyo, who worked with his teacher Akimoto Fugio, who loved Izu, and who wrote a poem describing the "sun" in early summer as "dripping" and the brightness and richness of nature in Izu. The poem is inscribed with the phrase, "Izu wa hi no taru no kokoro hana mikan" (Izu is a place where the sun shines and the citrus fruits bloom).

It is also a great way to enjoy the "Hachi-meguri" tour of Mt. Omuro, which is said to be a power spot, and slowly make your way around the mountain to save your power.
