On Friday, January 24, 2025, " Regional Education Courses " a culture school for members of JR Eastthe membership organization of JR East (Otonano Kyujitsu Club), will hold a "Learn and Taste" course in Toyama Prefecture, where participants will learn the reasons why sushi in Toyama is delicious from gastronomic geology and eat "Toyama Bay Sushi!

The reason why sushi in Toyama is so delicious will be revealed from gastronomic geology!

In the first part, Yoshiyuki Tatsumi, founder of Gastronomy Geology and director of the Geolib Institute, will explain why Toyama Bay, a "natural fish pond," produces delicious sushi from Gastronomy Geology.

In the second part, participants will learn the reasons why Toyama's sushi is so delicious by actually eating what they learned in the first part.
Please enjoy "Toyama Bay Sushi," which uses local fish from Toyama Bay, which is fresh and abundant in variety, and which only visitors to Toyama can enjoy, with an explanation from a sushi restaurant.

Magmatologist, born in Osaka in 1954. Founder of "Gastronomic Geology.
He is the founder of "Gastronomy Geology." His recent book "Introduction to 'Gastronomy Geology'-The Wonderful Relationship between Japanese Food and the Japanese Islands" (Kobunsha Shinsho) won the "Science Journalist Award 2023," and he has appeared in and supervised NHK specials such as "The Birth of Islands: Geo-Japan" and "Jounetsu Tairiku.
