Shinminato Crab Shack opened in January 2018 in Shinminato Fishing Port. Here, you can enjoy freshly landed Koshi-no-Akagani (Koshi-no-Akagani: red snow crab) boiled in a cauldron and eaten while it is still hot!
At the Crab Shack, we offer several plans, including a plan where you can enjoy a whole crab or an all-you-can-eat plan for 60 minutes. Please choose the one that best suits your needs. (*Reservations required in advance.)

Inside the crab shack is decorated with large fishing flags of Shinminato's fishing boats. Seating consists of a simple table, a beer case, and chairs. Normally, visitors can watch the boiling process up close, but now, as a precaution against infection, they have to watch from a little distance. The local lady will also teach you how to enjoy eating crab, so even those who are not accustomed to eating crab will be able to participate.
Shinminato Crab Shack" is open only from September to May, the season of red snow crabs. If you are interested, please be sure to try the freshly boiled Koshi red crab!
