I am sure that many of you will buy a boxed lunch to make the most of the time you have on the train as well as the time at your destination.
However, there are many stores in Tokyo Station, and it can be difficult to decide which one to stop by. ...... We would like to introduce three bento boxes recommended by our staff.
The "Tokyo Station 110th Anniversary Commemorative Lunchbox" is available at "Ekiben-ya Matsuri Grandsta Tokyo" on the 1st floor above ground!
The bento boxes are colorfully decorated with ingredients and dishes related to Tokyo and the prefectures where the Shinkansen bullet train terminates in the JR East area. The "Tokyo Station 110th Anniversary Logo" in the center of the package was designed by station staff at Tokyo Station based on the motif of the Marunouchi Station Building of Tokyo Station.
In addition to this boxed lunch, why don't you enjoy the boxed lunches brought to you from various places, along with the train windows, and reflect on the history of the railroad?

Sakanabacca's "Tokyo Chirashi" at the Keiyo Street area on the first floor above ground
You can get Tokyo-style chirashi-zushi, which is made with rare ingredients such as miso kelp from a long-established miso shop in Gotanda and bekko soy sauce from Izu Oshima, and served with kohada and boiled scallions, in the "Keiyo Street" area near the Shinkansen platforms. The seasonal ingredients change with the seasons, so you can enjoy a different taste in another season.
Unusual fish sashimi that you might want to pick up and snacks that go well with sake are also sold together. You may feel like having a party a little early.
*Contents may vary depending on the season.

Inari Sushi" by Mame Tanuki in the Square Zero area on the B1 floor
Popular even before the April 2024 renovation of "Square Zero" on the first basement floor, everything is made one by one in the store by employees, making it possible to take out fluffy, freshly made items.
In addition to the regular items, there are always more than seven varieties of inari sushi available at the store, including monthly specials, seasonal items, and limited-time offerings during events. The "Tokyo Station Limited Edition Tuna Shigureni Inari" developed to commemorate the reopening uses "Tuna Shigureni" to evoke the image of Tokyo. The special red fried bean curd branded with a brick pattern is a special looking inari sushi.
How about choosing an assortment when you are in a hurry, or picking up your favorite one when you have more time to spare?
Getting lost is one of the best parts of the experience. Enjoy your time at Tokyo Station!
