A spectacular viewpoint!

Tateishi" with Mt. Fuji in the background is a spectacular viewpoint! The stone towering over the sea is called "Tateishi. These stones are the result of geological strata that were piled up on the ocean floor in the past, hardened, and then scraped by waves over a long period of time.

It is good to see them during the daytime, but the best time to visit is when the setting sun stains the sky! Also, if the weather is fine in winter, you can see snow-covered Mt.
Hiroshige Ando, a landscape painter of the Edo period, painted a superb view of Tateishi here titled "Soshu Miuraya no Sato".

It is easily accessible and easy to get to as there are a number of buses available. There is a park right in front of Tateishi, so why not take your camera and go for a walk?
