Nighttime illumination during the autumn foliage season (October 25-November 9, 2025).

Chuson-ji Temple, one of the World Heritage Sites "Hiraizumi: Architecture, Gardens and Archaeological Remains Representing the Pure Land of Buddhism", will hold its annual "Autumn Foliage Galaxy 2025" lighting-up event. During this event, the autumn leaves will be illuminated in various places in the spacious precincts of Chuson-ji, creating a different view of the temple from usual. In particular, the path from the main hall to Konjikido is called "Tunnel of Autumn Leaves," with the autumn leaves stretching overhead.

Access to spots that are normally inaccessible.

The pond around Benzaiten Hall, built in 1716 and dedicated to the fifteen children of Benzaiten by Senhime, the wife of Lord Date Tsunamura of the Sendai domain, is usually fenced off, but during the "Autumn Leaves Galaxy" it is open to visitors.
Here, visitors can see the autumn leaves reflected in the pond and Benzaitendo. Visitors can enjoy the fantastic scenery shown in the photo.

Most of the illuminated areas are free of charge, but some areas, such as the Konjikido area, which are designated as "chargeable areas" during normal times, will become free of charge after the end of viewing hours (during the Autumn Leaves Ginga period, the fee will be charged). (During the "Koyo Ginga" period, the entrance hours are from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (subject to extension.))
