Do you think that salt comes from seawater? Yes, I thought so.
However, this Aizu Yama-Salt is made by the traditional method of boiling salt in a kettle from the source of the Oshio Urabandai hot spring located at the foot of Bandai-san (Mt. Bandai). So salt can also be made from hot spring water. The salt is made from hot spring water, so it is rich in minerals! And yet, only 800 grams of salt is extracted from 100 liters of spring water. The mildness and flavor of this salt is gaining popularity.
The Aizu Yama-Shio Ramen, which uses such salt, has a clear soup with a mild flavor and medium-thick, highly watered noodles, which go well with the soup and noodles. It is a light and refreshing bowl that you will want to drink up.
If you are in the neighborhood, please try it!
