Sake from all over Japan!

About 8 minutes walk from Kanazawa Station

If you want to enjoy "delicious sake" in the Kanazawa Station area, we recommend Shusui Daigo. This restaurant, which also operates two stores in Toyama and three stores in Hokuriku, offers a wide selection of delicious sake from all over Japan. Both tatami rooms and counter seating are available, but reservations are recommended due to the popularity of the restaurant. (When I visited, there were many people who gave up because the restaurant was full.)

Sake from the three Hokuriku prefectures is also available.

Menu (many sakes are not on the menu) Menu and prices are current as of July 2024. They are subject to change.
Toyama's sake, such as Katsucoma and Hayashi, are known even among Hokuriku residents as "Oh, I've never tasted anything like that before! This store has Katsikoma and Hayashi! (These two are small sake breweries. (These two sake breweries are small, so they make only a small amount of sake.)
So much lineup just from Kachikoma alone...! (Amazing...) *Menus and prices are current as of July 2024. They are subject to change.

Sake in Toyama recommended by Hokuriku Editorial Department at its own discretion and prejudice

Katsucoma (Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture: Seito Sake Brewery) is recommended for beginners who want to experience how delicious sake can be! This sake is also recommended for beginners. Of course, it is also recommended for sake lovers. It is difficult to put into words, such a taste, so I recommend it to those who have never had it and ask them, "How do you describe it?" and ask them what they think. (Hokuriku Editor: O)

2) Gen no Taki (Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture: Koukokuharu Sake Brewery) This brand was recommended to us by an employee of the Kurobe Gorge Railway and is nicknamed "Mabotaki. (I also like the fact that the name of the brewery sounds very divine.) It is brewed with Kurobe's famous water and has a good balance of acidity and umami (Hokuriku Editor: O) *It is a pity there was no sake available at the store that day...!

(Amazing...) *Menus and prices are current as of July 2024. They are subject to change.
There are also many sakes from Ishikawa and Fukui available! Personally, I think that many of Ishikawa's sake have a ricey flavor. On the other hand, I feel that most of the sakes from Fukui and Toyama are more watery. Sake with a ricey taste goes well with meat dishes, while sake with a mizuish taste goes well with fish and vegetables! (This is the opinion of a layman with no qualifications of any kind.)

Sake of Ishikawa recommended by Hokuriku editorial department with our own prejudice

(In the opinion of an unqualified amateur.) Yoshida Kurau (Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture: Yoshida Shuzo) This is a refreshing, crisp sake that goes down a treat. I think I can feel a slight carbonation! It is my favorite sake from Ishikawa. (Hokuriku Editor: O)

(2) Takeba (Noto Town, Ishikawa Prefecture: Kazuma Sake Brewery) This is a very versatile and friendly (?) sake that goes well with any person and any food. It is a good all-around sake that goes well with any person and any food! It's not called "chikuyo" but "chikuha. (Hokuriku Editor: O)

Sake of Fukui recommended by Hokuriku editorial department at its own discretion

(1) Kuroryu (Eiheiji-machi, Fukui Prefecture: Kuroryu Sake Brewery) When asked if there was any sake from Fukui that I could recommend, I replied, "Kuroryu, I guess. When asked if he had any recommendations for sake in Fukui, he replied, "I guess Kuroryu. I answered, 'I know that. What else do you recommend? I am not able to say "Kuroryu" when asked for a recommendation these days. It has a name value and strength that makes it the king. (Hokuriku Editor: O)

2) Hayaseura (Mihama Town, Fukui Prefecture: Miyake Hikoemon Sake Brewery) This sake is from the southern part of Fukui Prefecture, the Reinan area. It is a sake from the southern part of Fukui Prefecture. We recommend enjoying it with fish! (Hokuriku Editor: O)
Koryu also has a separate menu! A great selection of items *Menus and prices are current as of July 2024. Please note that the menu and prices are subject to change.

Great pairing with food...!

Three Brothers of Sake Snacks
There are many dishes that go well with sake. We recommend the three brothers' sake snacks! Crabmeat, crabmeat, and shrimp are grilled on kombu (kelp), making them a perfect snack to go with sake.
Recommended for summer! Cold Kanazawa Oden
This chilled oden dish is sure to be a hit with the ladies. You can taste summer vegetables such as zucchini and tomatoes with delicious soup stock...! Daigo Kanazawa has several sake sommeliers on staff, so if you ask them to serve you a Hokuriku sake that goes well with this dish, they will give you a great choice.

Sake that Hokuriku editorial staff drank on this day

On this particular day, I wanted to try a sake I had never had before! (I have conquered almost all sake breweries in the Hokuriku region), so I will introduce what kind of sake I ordered and what kind of sake I was served! I would like to introduce them to you.
Tanaka Rokugo (left) W (right)
The first sake I ordered was "Tanaka Rokugo (Shiraito Sake Brewery, Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture)," which was recommended to me by an acquaintance! I wondered if Mr. Tanaka makes this sake. The manager told us the origin of the sake. Tanaka Rokuugo" comes from the brewer's family name, Tanaka, and also from the fact that the brewery is located in a rice field. The name "Rokuugo" is derived from the 65% polished rice ratio. If you sit at the counter, you can learn a lot from the waiter as he is very close to you!

W (Hida City, Gifu Prefecture: Watanabe Sake Brewery)" I looked at the showcase in front of me and ordered "the one with the cute pink and black label over there..."! Since it was after Tanaka Rokugo, I decided to ask about the origin of this one as well. The "W" stands for "Watanabe" (Watanabe Brewery), "World" (World), and "Warai" (Warai for laughter). I heard that! It was a very, very sweet sake!
KAMERAI (left) HITONATSU NO KOI (right)
For the next order, I decided to tell them what I liked! I said, "I really like Yoshida Kurau, do you have any recommendations for someone like that?" When I asked, what came out was "Kamerei ((Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture: Okazaki Sake Brewery)", which I was told reads as "Kirei"! The kanji characters are very congratulatory. The first impression was a clear and clear feeling that sinks in! My first impression was that it was delicious!

Next, we ordered something with a "summery" atmosphere. I was excited to see what was to come out, and what appeared was "cute! The sake with a handsome label, "HITONATSU NO KOI" ((Kawasaki-machi, Shibata-gun, Miyagi Prefecture: Shinzawa Brewery), which made the girls excited. Fresh! It had acidity, but it was gentle. It is a true one-summer love that does not drag on in a good way.... (LOL).
Harushika (left) Ki (right)
Since we were seated at the counter that day, I got to know my neighbor well. He was visiting Nara on a business trip! Since we were there, he recommended "Nara's Sake" to us. Harushika (Harushika Sake Brewery, Nara City, Nara Prefecture)" is a very Nara-like name. The name of the sake brewery is derived from "Kasuga" of Kasuga Taisha Shrine and the name of the brewery, which is named after a deer regarded as a god. I felt its strength.

Next, I ordered a bottle of "Ki" (Nagayama Honke Sake Brewery, Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture), which had been recommended by an acquaintance and had been on my mind for some time. It was so good that the moment I drank it, I smiled and said, "I love this! It was so delicious that I smiled and said, "I love this! It is a fresh, soft, breezy, fruity sake with a hint of sweetness and great flavor! It is slightly sweet and has a great flavor! It was so clear, or I can't describe it well, but it had a great sense of transparency...! It was the kind of sake that fits into your body. It was that kind of sake. It is tentatively one of the best 3 sakes of my life....
Mimuro Cedar (left) Hayaseura (right)
Seeing how impressed Taka was with the taste, his brother, who is from Nara, said, "I think he likes Mimuro cedar." He gave me a further recommendation. I ordered it immediately! Mimuro Sugi (Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture: Imanishi Sake Brewery)" This was... a nice choice by the elder brother. It was my favorite, straight and true! If you like Kuroryu and Yoshida Kura, I think you will like Ki and Mimuro Sugi too. I can feel the sweet umami going through my nerves and into my brain! It goes on and on and on. It is a sake that goes on and on and on. I think it goes well with Western food. What would you call it in terms of fruit? I'm a bit confused.... Is it white grape-like? Peachy? Apple-like? I can't say for sure.... This was the No.1 of the day. Applause.

I thought I had never seen Hayaseura with a red label before, but I was told that it is a product only available at Echizen Sake-Noten Hayashi (only at Echizen Sake-Noten Hayashi and the Fukui antenna shop 291 in Tokyo)! (This brand is sold only at Echizen Sake-Noten Hayashi and Fukui Antenna Shop "291" in Tokyo.) (It seems to be sold only at Echizen Sake-Noten Hayashi and at the Fukui Antenna Shop "291" in Tokyo. I was deeply impressed.

A place where you can immerse yourself in the world of sake

How was it? Sake can be drunk anywhere in Japan. Sake is a very enjoyable hobby, and you can enjoy the marriage of sake and local food, or you can compare different kinds of sake and realize again how much you like your local sake. You may be able to find the sake that is destined to be your favorite. It was a wonderful store that I would like you to visit with that in mind. Please stop by when you visit Kanazawa.
