Nakajoya, located near Kaminoyama Onsen, is a long-established bun shop that was founded in 1862 and has been loved by the local community for over 150 years for its buns.
What kind of hiyaatsu sweets are they talking about? We immediately asked for it♪

The hiyaatsu is "tempura manju soft"!

Full of molasses and kinako (soybean flour)!
This is the rumored hiyaatsu sweet, "Tempura Manju Soft"! There are two kinds, kuromitsu kinako and green tea, but this time I chose the kuromitsu kinako.
The cold soft serve ice cream is topped with hot tempura manju (not fried manju, but tempura manju). Cold! Hot! The tempura manju has a batter and a soft ice cream. The tempura manju has a crispy batter! The richly-stuffed anko (red bean paste) is elegant, and the tempura manju by itself is a delicious delicacy. The soft-serve ice cream is also very smooth and not too sweet to complement the red bean paste!
By the way, the tempura manju is deep-fried to order, so it is served hot! Be careful if you have cat tongues!
