The spectacular view from the hydrangea path.
At Hasedera Temple in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, 2,500 hydrangeas of 40 varieties are in full bloom during this season. The contrast between the view of Sagami Bay from the pathway and the vividly colored hydrangeas is truly "breathtaking! The temple grounds, stretching from the foot of deep green Mt. Kannon to its mid-slope, are called "Kamakura's Western Paradise," where flowers never cease to bloom throughout the four seasons, and the colors of the flowers and trees soothe the hearts of the visitors.

Enjoy hydrangeas when they are in full bloom!

The best time to see them is from mid to late June!
Enjoy the contrast of hydrangeas, the city, and Sagami Bay seen from the slope of the scenic walkway. Or, take your time to enjoy each hydrangea blooming in various shades of blue, purple, and pink. It is also good to take pictures of beautiful hydrangeas. There are three different ways to enjoy hydrangeas.
Is the language of hydrangea flowers "changeable"?
The language of flowers also changes according to color, with blue hydrangeas expressing "intelligent" and "mysterious," white hydrangeas "tolerant" and "single-minded love," and pink hydrangeas "strong love" and "energetic women. Each color of hydrangea has its own language of flowers. It may be interesting to appreciate them while thinking of the language of flowers.

How to spend the waiting time
If you have to wait, we recommend that you visit the "Main Image of the Eleven-Faced Kannon Bosatsu" in the Kannon Hall or learn more about the Kannon at the Kannon Museum. You will definitely be overwhelmed by its size and divine atmosphere.
Your legs are a bit tired from walking! In that case, have a meal at "Kaiko-an", a restaurant located on the temple grounds. The view from the Kaiko-an, which changes from season to season, will soothe your tired body in this special time and space.
Look for the good marriage Jizo!
It is said that there are three "Ryouren Jizo" in the temple grounds. You will be lucky if you can find all three "Ryouren Jizo".
The hour passed in no time at all. I was able to fully enjoy the time I had to wait to see the hydrangeas!
