Flower season in Biei! Enjoy the seasonal expressions of the flower garden hills

The "Observation Flower Garden: Shikisai-no-oka" is a 14-hectare wide flower garden in Biei-cho, located almost in the center of Hokkaido, where you can enjoy colorful flowers throughout the four seasons. Dozens of kinds of flowers and plants are carefully cultivated each season, such as sunflowers, lavenders, snapdragon, petunias, salvia, and nadeshiko in summer, and cosmos, catechu, and kochia in autumn. It is a popular spot for many fans who visit many times during the green season to take pictures. The full bloom of sunflowers, snapdragons, and cosmos looks very beautiful against the blue sky of Biei. Enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Tokachi and Mt. Furano in the distance, as well as the unique view of the flower garden!

There are many ways to enjoy! Why don't you tour around Shikisai-no-oka?

During the green season, we recommend taking the popular "Norokko-go" (tractor bus) for a relaxing and leisurely tour of the flower gardens. There will be photo opportunities along the way. There is also a year-round alpaca farm within the park, where you can feed and interact with the alpacas up close. The mascot is very popular with children all over the world! Please come and meet the adorable alpacas!

The blue sky of Biei and the blue beauty of nemophila

Nemophila is famous in Honshu for "National Hitari Seaside Park Miharashi no Oka" in Ibaraki Prefecture, which blooms from mid-April to early May, but can be enjoyed in Biei, Hokkaido, from June to July every year. The impression changes depending on the time and place of viewing. Please enjoy the scenery of bright blue nemophila blooming all around under the blue sky and white clouds of Biei by walking slowly! In *2025, nemophila will be blooming in one section near the entrance. After admiring the spectacular view, how about a bowl of soup curry, a popular menu item at the "Phlox Hall" restaurant on the second floor? You can enjoy Biei vegetables harvested at Shikisaino-Oka FARM, including onions and potatoes. At the store, "Hill Potato Croquettes" made from Baron and Kitaakari harvested at Shikisai-no-oka FARM are available, so please taste the delicious vegetables of Biei!

In summer, Shikisai-no-oka is filled with lavender, sunflowers, and colorful flowers. Why don't you leave a memorable picture surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants unique to Biei? You can enjoy the different atmospheres of spring, summer, and fall as the flowers bloom in different seasons, making it hard to believe that it is the same flower garden. Enjoy the beautiful gradation of the flowers blooming in a belt-like pattern, as well as the fragrance of the flowers up close! We look forward to seeing you at Shikisai-no-oka!

Biyu Bus] Blue Pond and Flower Garden B (Afternoon) Course runs every day from July 1 to August 31, 2025!

The "Biyu Bus" is a convenient way to visit Biei's must-see spots. There are three courses: "Panorama Road and Flower Field B (afternoon) Course" will take you to "Shin-ei Hill" where you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Daisetsuzan, "Shikisai Hill" where you can see the flower field with a view, "Takushinkan" where photographer Shinzo Maeda's works are displayed, "Blue Hill" near Aizomeyuki no Mori (forest), and "Biei Hills" where you can see ponies, sheep, goats, rabbits and other cute animals. The tour will also take you to "Chiyoda Fureai Ranch," where you can meet ponies, sheep, goats, rabbits, and other cute animals!
