Kakio's Hydrangea Temple "Asozan Jokeiji Temple", one of the 100 best places for flowers in Kanagawa
The village of Kakio is surrounded by rich nature. As if blending in with the scenery, Jokei-ji Temple has carefully preserved its traditional hermitage-like atmosphere. It is a place where quiet time flows, gently healing the hearts of visitors. Designated as one of the 100 best places to view flowers in Kanagawa, the temple is home to seasonal flowers such as cherry blossoms, daffodils, wildflowers, skunk cabbages, hydrangeas, higanbana, bush clovers, plum blossoms, camellias, and camellias throughout the year.

Hydrangeas began to be planted little by little around 1967. Today, more than 1,000 plants are in full bloom, and the temple grounds are filled with colorful flowers in early summer! The temple is called "Kakio's Hydrangea Temple" because of its beauty, and has become a popular healing spot for both locals and visitors from far and wide.
