Chiaki Park Cherry Blossom Festival
Chiaki Park is a familiar hanami spot, the former residence of Akita feudal lord Satake, which became a park through the ages and can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot from Akita Station to the Chiaki Park entrance. The park is a familiar cherry blossom viewing spot that is about a 10-minute walk from Akita Station to the entrance of Chiaki Park. Approximately 650 cherry trees, including someiyoshino, weeping cherry, yaezakura, jindaiakebono, and oomurazakura, are planted here and bloom beautifully in full bloom when spring arrives. It has been selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan, and is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Akita City.
