Sanriku Railway-inspired "Sanriku Crepe

It is not only inside the store that is overflowing with local love. The "Sanriku Crepe" was made in the image of the Sanriku Railway. The white train cars with red and blue lines are called "Santetsu," which are popular among railroad enthusiasts, and the locals are also attached to them.

The "Santetsu Crepe" is made with strawberry and blueberry jam to represent the Sanriku Railway cars, and on top of the cream is a white chocolate sea cat. The petrel, which squeaks like a cat, can be seen in the port town of Ofunato, and is the city bird of Ofunato.

The wrapping paper used to wrap the crepes is an official Sanriku Railway wrapping paper! When the then stationmaster of Mori Station found out that the "tiny crepe shop" was going to be interviewed for a TV program, he brought it to the station and said, "It looks good on the screen, so I thought I'd use it. It is a "Sanriku Crepe" officially approved by Sanriku Railway.

Camellia crepe" featuring camellia flowers

The crepe looks like a real camellia! It's a shame to eat it... Apple compote and custard cream are wrapped in pink crepe dough that looks like camellia petals, and it even has chocolate in the shape of a leaf. The level of reproduction is astonishing! The apple compote is made with apples from Rikuzentakata, and the compote is homemade. The compote is homemade and has just the right acidity, making it a perfect match for the custard cream. The leaf-shaped chocolate is colored with wakame seaweed powder from Ofunato.

Tsubaki Crepe
The "Camellia Crepe" is sold from January, when camellias are in bloom, until around Golden Week. Why not visit the Tsubaki Matsuri (Camellia Festival) held every year at the "World Camellia Museum, Goishi" in Ofunato?

Koishihama Station Crepe" when you visit Koishihama Station

Koishihama Station has the most romantic name in Sanriku. It takes about 16 minutes from Mori Station, and from the station platform you can see Okirai Bay. Originally, the station was named "Koishihama," derived from the name of the place, but the name was changed in 2009 to match the "Koishihama" brand of scallops. The station is now known as a power spot for romance, and the station's waiting room is now used for "scallop shell ema hanging," where people write their wishes on scallop shells and hang them up.

The "Koishihamaeki Crepe" is based on the motif of Koishihama Station, and the pink scallop-shaped center represents the "Koishihama" brand of scallops. Inside the crepe is vanilla ice cream. The blueberries in the center are from Rikuzentakata and represent the pearls inside the scallop. The light blue jelly is made from "San-Tetsu Cider" created by Sanriku Railway in collaboration with a local company. The jelly represents the verdant sea of Koishihama, the whipped cream the waves, and the crushed cookies the sandy beach.
