Akita Light Fantasy 2025" is being held in central Akita City from November 29, 2025 (Sat) to February 28, 2026 (Sat) to illuminate the city in winter. During this period, visitors can enjoy fantastic light displays in a wide area from Akita Base Center Alve to Area Nakaichi and around Akita Castle Hotel. The entire town, centering on Akita Station, will be lit up, making this a perfect seasonal event for winter strolls and sightseeing.

Akita Station also becomes more colorful

A Christmas tree will appear in the east-west free passageway "Popoload", which will be decorated with Christmas decorations until December 25 (Thu.). Also, a Christmas-spec Akita Inu balloon has appeared near the central ticket gate of Akita Station. The first Akita Inu balloon graduated on November 25 and became the second Akita Inu balloon. Please come and see it.

A tunnel of light has appeared in the plaza in front of the West Exit Station, as it did last year, and has become a popular spot where many people enjoy taking pictures immediately after the lights are turned on. Projection mapping

In addition, projection mapping will be held on the wall of the Akita Station Building "Topico. Vivid colors will be mixed and projected to create a variety of images in a lively and dynamic manner. The overlapping scenery of Akita Station will stimulate viewers' imagination. This work will also be projected from 17:00 to 21:00 on Saturday, November 29, 2025 to Saturday, February 28, 2026. This video is the work of Akita Public University of Fine Arts and Music, the only art university in Akita Prefecture.
