In "National Treasure Matsumoto Castle Tower Projection Mapping 2024-2025," "Ukiyoe related to Shinshu" by Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige and "Folding Screen Painting" depicting Matsumoto Castle Lord Ishikawa Kazumasa, who built the magnificent tower, are projected on the tower and stonewall of Matsumoto Castle, one of the five existing national treasures and the oldest of the five-story, six-story castle tower, in three dimensions. The digital animation features three-dimensional, dynamic images. Matsumoto Temari, Fukayama textiles, indigo dyeing, and other traditional crafts unique to Matsumoto City are used as motifs. The theme of the first phase is "A Dynamic Historical Picture Scroll. Digital animations of ukiyoe prints by Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige related to Shinshu and folding screen paintings depicting Ishikawa Kazumasa, lord of Matsumoto Castle, who built the magnificent castle tower, will be projected in three-dimensional dynamic images. The Ukiyoe Museum of Japan has cooperated to create a spectacular projection mapping using Ujigawa Sadahide's "Battle of Ujigawa River" depicting Takatsuna Sasaki, Kuniyoshi Utagawa's "Kiso Kaido 69 Tsugi-no Uchi" "Shimosuwa" "Princess Yaegaki" and Hiroshige Utagawa's "Kisoji no Yamakawa" depicting Princess Yaegaki, etc. The theme for the second period is "Hikari Saiyasai".

Illumination of "Daimyocho Street" and "Chitose Bridge
From December 14 (Sat) to February 16 (Sun), "Onamachi-dori" and "Chitose-bashi Bridge" will be illuminated with about 80,000 warm lights. Trees along the streets and riverbeds will be illuminated to create a romantic atmosphere! The illumination runs from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
