On March 16, 2024, the Hokuriku Shinkansen line will open in all of Ishikawa Prefecture. The Shinkansen will stop at Komatsu Station and Kaga Onsen Station in the future, making sightseeing more convenient.

Souvenirs available at Komatsu Station

Komatsu Souvenir Shop (Tosanten) just opened on September 18, 2023. It is located in "Komatsu Nine" (Komatsu Nine), a tourist exchange center directly connected to Komatsu Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line. It carries a selection of Komatsu's best local products.
Komatsu Udon, a specialty of Komatsu
I immediately asked the store staff for their recommendation! He introduced us to "Imohorichouja". This product is a popular item from Maru Fuji, a cake shop in Komatsu! When I went to the store around 10:30 in the morning, there were already only three left.
Imohori Choja
Imohori Choja is a sweet potato made from 100% Goroshima Kintoki grown in Ishikawa Prefecture. It is hokuhokku, yet moist and smooth. The sweet Goroshimakintoki and the texture of the pie crust were a perfect match. I recommend this!
While wandering around the store, I found one thing that caught my attention. Its name is "White Sandwich". It is a cream sandwiched between two slices of bread, and is said to be "soul food" for Komatsu citizens. The retro-looking packaging, painted in light blue, has not changed in 70 years!
The white sandwiches have remained unchanged since they were first sold over 70 years ago, and are still carefully made by hand, one set at a time. The cream is carefully spread over the entire surface of the bread, right up to the edge of the bread, so you can enjoy the harmony of the bread and cream until the very last bite.
The rustic flavor of the bread enhances the deliciousness of the homemade whipped cream!

A wide selection of local sake is also available!

Komatsu's famous local sake is "Kamiizumi" by Azuma Sake Brewery. Kamiizumi's motto is to create sake that is uniquely local and to ensure that all elements involved in the brewing process are made in Ishikawa Prefecture. Hakusan subterranean water, local sake rice, and local yeast are used to brew this sake. This sake is typical of Ishikawa's local sake.
Kabuki goods
Kutani ware goods
In addition, there were a variety of souvenirs with Kabuki and Kutani-yaki motifs, which are typical of Komatsu! The shop is directly connected to the station for easy access, so be sure to stop by when you visit Komatsu.

Souvenirs available at Kaga Onsen Station

If you want to buy souvenirs around Kaga Onsen Station, we recommend the souvenir shop on the first floor of "Avio City Kaga" near the station!
We asked the store staff for their recommended souvenirs here as soon as possible!

Kaga Shiyunishi

Kaga Shiyunishi" is a popular product of Otowado, a long-established Japanese confectionery in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It is not too hard, not too soft, and has an exquisite crispy texture. It is also famous as the confectionery presented by His Majesty the Emperor when he was the Crown Prince.

Yamanaka Lacquerware

Traditional crafts such as Yamanaka lacquerware and Kutani ware were also sold! By taking a tea bowl or chopstick rest as a souvenir, you will be able to feel the "memory of Kaga" in your daily life♪
Construction work was underway on the connecting walkway from Kaga Onsen Station to Avio City Kaga! After the opening of the Shinkansen, you will be able to access to the station without getting wet even on bad weather days!
