A spectacular view of the Shichidaki Ice Falls, which can only be seen in winter

The "Shichidaki Ice Fall" in Hachimantai City, Iwate Prefecture, is a 30-meter drop of "Shichidaki Waterfall" that forms a huge ice pillar and becomes a powerful "ice fall". The peak season is usually from mid-January to mid-February. The huge waterfalls freeze little by little, and you can see beautiful ice art differently each time you visit.

Hachimantai Mountain Hotel, which owns Hachimantai Resort Panorama Ski Area, organizes the "Nanadaki Ice Fall Snowshoe Tour!
You will ride the ski resort's high-speed lift to the top of the ski slope and leave the slopes to walk through the forest, which is only possible in winter when the slopes are covered with snow. This course takes you to the icefall while observing footprints left on the snow by rabbits, foxes, antelopes, squirrels, and other wildlife, as well as bear terraces created in the fall. On the way back, we will return down the trail to the slopes.

Even if it is your first time snowshoeing, don't worry!

Even if you are new to snowshoeing, we will show you how to put on snowshoes and how to walk.
We also have snowshoes and poles for rent. Please let us know in advance if you need them.

After the tour, refresh yourself with seasonal dishes and hot springs

After spending an active day in the great outdoors, we will go to a natural hot spring that will help you recover from fatigue and heal.
The superb hot spring water drawn from Matsukawa Onsen, a famous and secluded hot spring, will gently relieve you of the day's fatigue.
For dinner, we use locally produced and consumed ingredients as much as possible, including local Hachimantai ingredients, and prepare a buffet-style menu that matches the ingredients. Please enjoy the true taste of seasonal ingredients.
