Showa-era retro vending machine filled with memories

Sawara Shoten, a shipping and grocery merchant near Akita Port, installed an udon and soba vending machine in 1971, which was loved by people in Akita Prefecture and beyond for many years. In April of this year, maintenance was performed and the deteriorated outer part was replaced with a new part, but the inner part is still in operation as it was during the Sawara Shoten days. The outside of the machine is now on display nearby as if it is watching over the current vending machine. 300 yen for a satisfying bowl of udon or soba noodles from a vending machine filled with memories is a must-try!

Serion's limited-edition soft ice cream

Babahera Soft, a soft version of Akita's famous "Babahera Ice Cream," is now on sale. Unlike ordinary Bubba hera, it has a mellow texture and is very tasty!
Udon-soba vending machine tsuyu-flavored soft serve, a collaboration between Shindo Reika, famous for its baba hera ice cream, and Roadside Station Akita Port, is also new on the market! The nostalgic sweet-and-sour soft serve is said to go well with the tempura-inspired shrimp paste, tenkasu, and shichimi (seven spice flavors). The shichimi can be sprinkled to your liking, or you can choose not to have the toppings! It is a new type of soft-serve ice cream, so please go try it!

Serion Garden with lots of souvenirs

Serion Garden is a marche located on the first floor of Serion Tower. Vegetables and fruits grown by local Akita City farmers are on display. The selection of vegetables and fruits is limited, so shopping in the morning is recommended. Various types of Akita's specialty kiritanpo and iburi-goko (pickled ginger) are also available for purchase. There is also a good selection of sweets, the most popular of which are cookies made with Oga salt. My favorite part of the Marche is the sake corner! There is a wide selection of seasonal sake, sake, and shochu, making it hard to choose just one.
