Goshikinuma" called "Mysterious Lakes and Marshes

The official name of Goshikinuma is "Goshikinuma Lake Group. It is a group of more than 30 lakes and marshes created by the eruption of Bandai-san in the Meiji Era. They include Bishamon-numa, Akanuma, Aonuma, Ryunuma, Rurinuma, and many others. Goshiki-numa is not "five colored swamps" with five swamps, but was so named because of the variety of colors that can be seen. It is said that the colors change with the weather, seasons, viewing angle, and volcanic substances contained in the water. The colors also appear different depending on the four seasons, weather, and time of day, so it is sure to be fun no matter how many times you visit.

In 2016, Goshikinuma was awarded one star in the Michelin Green Guide. The Michelin Green Guide is a tourist attraction recommended by the famous gourmet guide, the Michelin Guide. It is a proof that the area is internationally recognized as an attractive tourist destination.

Bishamon-numa" where heart-shaped carp live

Bishamon-numa, the largest of the Goshiki-numa lakes, offers visitors the opportunity to view the beautiful blue color from the observation platform or to enjoy the scenery up close in a rowboat. In fact, a carp with a red heart mark lives in this swamp! The red heart on its white body stands out, and it is said locally that this carp "brings happiness" and "couples will find love", and if you can find it, good things will happen on that day...! At a nearby store, "Koi Koi Yaki" (not taiyaki) with a heart mark on it is sold.

Rowing boats are closed in winter.

Aonuma" shining in bright blue

Aonuma" is a particularly bright blue swamp in Goshiki-numa. It is the smallest of the swamps, but its blue color is the most beautiful! It is especially beautiful in combination with the surrounding nature, providing a contrast with the fresh greenery in summer and the autumn leaves in fall. The vivid blue color can be seen throughout the year, but the best shot is early morning in winter.
