What is Urabandai Kogen?

Urabandai Kogen is located at the foot of Mt. Bandai in Kitashiobara-mura, northern Fukushima Prefecture, at an altitude of 800 m. It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Tokyo by the Tohoku Shinkansen bullet train and local train.

Most of the nature in Kitashiobara Village is designated as Bandai-Asahi National Park, and the area is surrounded by beautiful nature, including "Bandai-san," one of Japan's 100 most famous mountains, and "Goshikinuma," which has received a one-star rating in the Michelin Green Guide (a travel guide that describes the attractions of various regions). Bandaisan" is one of the 100 best geological sites in Japan and is also recognized as a Japan Geopark, attracting attention not only from Japanese tourists but also from visitors to Japan.

Located 1,390 meters above sea level, the Grandeco Urabandai Ropeway offers a spectacular view of Urabandai, especially during the fall foliage season, which attracts many tourists. Usually, the best time to view the autumn leaves is about one to two weeks, but at Grand Deco, where there is a difference in elevation, you can enjoy the autumn leaves for about two months from late September to early November every year.

You can freely play with your dog in a vast space that becomes a ski slope in winter! The foot dog run is about 1,000 meters above sea level, and the summit dog run is about 1,400 meters above sea level, making it cooler.
