From the Tokyo metropolitan area, the Tanigawa-dake Ropeway station can be reached in about two hours by a combination of train and bus, with the nearest stations being Jomo Kogen Station on the JR Joetsu Shinkansen Line or Mizukami Station on the JR Joetsu Line. From Jomo Kogen Station, it takes about 50 minutes by bus, and from Mizukami Station, about 25 minutes by bus to Tanigawa-dake Ropeway Station.
