The Akagawa Fireworks Festival has been a summer tradition in Tsuruoka City, and the committee members wanted to bring back the fireworks of the Akagawa River, which had once been cut off! The Akagawa Fireworks Festival was held in 1991 for the first time in 27 years, thanks to the efforts of the committee members and many other people. Today, it is a magnificent fireworks display with approximately 12,000 fireworks, and has been selected as one of the 50 best fireworks displays in Japan.
Date: Saturday, August 19, 2023 *No postponement in case of stormy weather
Location: Akagawa riverside (Mikawabashi to Haguro Bridge), Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture
*The application for the area where you can watch the fireworks for free as the event support seats has been closed by lottery. All areas of the venue will be reserved seating, so those without tickets on the day will not be allowed to enter the venue.
The realistic fireworks will spread all over the night sky of Tsuruoka!
