Spark Carnival is one of the summer festivals in Saitama City!

We are pleased to announce that the festival will be held normally for the first time in four years!
The Omiya Summer Festival is a major event that decorates the summer in Omiya, and each unique festival is held in grand style. The Omiya Summer Festival is a summer festival in the Omiya area of Saitama City, featuring seven festivals: "Nakasendo Miyahara Festival," "Nishiguchi Summer Festival," "Spark Carnival," "Nakasendo Festival," "Higashiomiya Summer Festival," "Omiya Nisshin Tanabata Festival," and "Iga Fan Festival Festival.

What is Spark Carnival?

The Spark Carnival features a samba team in costumes symbolizing samba culture that enlivens the parade, and a portable shrine of the local town council. There will also be yosakoi dancing, a "braid" parade, stage events, taiko drum performances, and more!
In addition, performances by the Saitama Sakae Junior & Senior High School Marching Band/Baton Club and the Saitama City Firefighting Band will liven up the summer in Omiya!

History and Origin of Spark Carnival

The "Spark Carnival" began as a way to liven up the summer festival in conjunction with the redevelopment of the west exit of JR Omiya Station. It is a powerful and enthusiastic "Citizens' Festival" consisting of a traditional Japanese event of Mikoshi (portable shrine) and samba (samba) and other Japanese and Western performances!
